How to apply:
- Complete the online application.
- Register for the HSPT.
- Log in to review your assigned checklist.
- Submit your application, essay, and the $65 application fee by the December 6, 2024 deadline.

CLASS OF 2029 APPLICANTS
Please visit www.adwcatholicschools.org for information on the Archdiocese of Washington High School Placement Test.
- Fill out the online application on or before December 6, 2024.
- List St. John’s as one of your choices when you take the High School Placement Test at your school.
- Your school will send grades and recommendations directly to St. John’s.
- Fill out the online application on or before December 6, 2024. You will not be able to request recommendations or transcripts until you submit the application.
- Arrange to have the following sent to the Admissions Office on or before January 6, 2025:
- Academic transcripts for 7th and 8th grade
- Recommendations from two current teachers of academic subjects. Once you submit your application, you are able to enter your teacher's name and email address on your Application Checklist to request a recommendation electronically.
- Register for the Archdiocesan High School Placement Test at least two weeks prior to test date. (Registration forms are available at www.adw.org)
Test dates: December 7 and December 14, 2024
We are no longer accepting transfer applications for the 2024-2025 school year.
- Grades
- If you are applying for 10th grade, please send your final 8th-grade transcript and freshman-year, first-semester grades.
- If you are applying for 11th grade, please send your final 9th-grade transcript and sophomore-year, first semester grades.
- Recommendations from two current teachers of academic subjects.
- Reports from any standardized tests you have taken this school year or last (optional).
There is no separate application for the De La Salle Scholars Program. Once you have answered “yes" to the question “Do you plan to apply for the De La Salle Scholars Program?" on the application, the required Scholars essay question will appear at the end.
- Fill out the online application on or before December 6, 2024.
- Submit a recent psycho-educational evaluation that has been completed within the last three years. There are no exceptions made to the requirements to submit a recent evaluation. This evaluation must include:
- The WISC-V (measure of overall cognitive ability).
- The Woodcock-Johnson IV Tests of Achievement (measure of academic skills).
- The IVA, BRIEF, or WRAML-2 (measure of processing speed, fluency and executive functioning).
- Provide the remaining information required of all students, including standardized testing, grades, and teacher recommendations.
In order to apply for 9th grade, you must submit an essay as part of the application. During the online application process, you will be asked to respond to the following prompt: Describe yourself to the Admissions Committee and indicate why you wish to attend St. John’s College High School.
