In late March, students in the SJC Competition Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble were part of the WorldStrides Nashville Heritage Festival.
Both ensembles received the Gold Award for best aggregate score, in addition to the following awards:
Wind Ensemble
- First Place in High School Band Category
- Gold Award for score above 90%
- Adjudicator Award for score above 92%
Competition Jazz Ensemble
- First Place in High School Jazz Band Category
- Gold Award for score above 90%
- Adjudicator Award for score above 92%
- Named the festival's Top Overall Band Group
- Top Jazz Soloist, Nicolas Hensal ‘24
School Awards
- Top Instrumental Program
- Ovation Award, for student who best represents their school music program, Caleb Altizer '23
- Spirit Award, for school that best represents school spirit at the festival
