De La Salle Scholars Travel to Italy During Spring Break

From March 29 to April 6, 25 seniors in the De La Salle Scholars Program traveled to Italy to learn about history, art, and culture, as they made their way through Venice, Ravenna, Florence, Lucca, Cinque Terre, and the Como region.

Trip highlights:

  1. Scholars enjoyed official tours in Venice, Ravenna, and Florence.
  2. They visited the Basilica of San Vitale, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, and Dante’s tomb in Ravenna.
  3. In Florence, they took in the Uffizi Gallery, which houses works by Botticelli and Michelangelo, among many others.
  4. Students and chaperones strapped on helmets and biked the medieval walls of Lucca, a Tuscan town.
  5. While visiting the Cinque Terre, they swam in the Ligurian sea and hiked to the cliffside town of Corniglia.
