St. John’s appoints Gary Potz as head coach of the girls’ tennis team.

As a former top 20 player in Hungary, Coach Potz competed in national and international events in the 14U, 16U, and 18U divisions. He earned a tennis scholarship to ASA Miami, one of the top JUCO programs and later transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Superior where he played top singles, captained the tennis team, and was named an All-Conference player for two years. He also served as an assistant coach at the University of Minnesota-Duluth while completing his master’s in business administration.

Potz says, “Tennis has taught me invaluable lessons in mental strength, confidence, and perseverance. My coaching philosophy centers on shaping players, not only technically, but also in character, helping them excel through dedication and positivity. At St. John’s College High School, I am committed to fostering the spiritual, academic, cultural, physical, and moral development of students, preparing them for leadership, achievement, and service to the community.”
