St. John’s appoints Hillary Fratzke as head coach of the girls’ lacrosse team. Coach Fratzke honed her coaching skills at Northwestern University, William & Mary, and the University of Tampa after her award-winning college career (four-time All-Conference, three-time All-American, two-time CAA Player of the Year, and two-time Tewaaraton nominee).

Fratzke started her coaching career as an assistant coach at Northwestern University. During her time with the Wildcats, she helped the program claim back-to-back NCAA championships in 2011 and 2012, as well as a Final Four appearance in 2013. While coaching at NU, Fratzke played a lead role in coordinating all aspects of the Wildcats’ program, including training sessions, film study, recruiting, program operations, and marketing. She also coached extensively in Northwestern’s national youth camps and clinics.

From 2013 to 2109, Fratzke was the head lacrosse coach at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Her tenure with the Tribe led to 17 players garnering 22 All-Conference honors. Additionally, her teams excelled academically, earning 35 conference academic honor roll selections.

Most recently, Fratzke served as assistant coach and offensive coordinator on the University of Tampa women’s lacrosse coaching staff from 2020 to 2022. During her time there, the players benefited from her development and skill set, which helped set the foundation for the team’s national championship in 2024.

Fratzke entered coaching after an exceptional playing career at Towson University, where she earned IWLCA All-American honors three times and ranked fourth all-time in NCAA women’s draw controls (327). Additionally, Fratzke, a four-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, was a two-time Tewaaraton Trophy nominee and garnered CAA Player of the Year honors in 2008 and 2010.

Coach Fratzke is passionate about player development, excited to start coaching, and grateful for the opportunity to join the SJC family, where she will bring the Lasallian mission to life both on and off the lacrosse field.
